FAQ'S

Q: HOW LONG SHOULD MY POOL FILTER DURING THE SUMMER?
A: ALL POOLS ARE DIFFERENT BUT WE WOULD RECOMMEND RUNNING THE AVERAGE SYSTEM 6 TO 8HOURS PER DAY DURING THE WARM SUMMER MONTHS

Q: WHY DOES MY POOL GET ALGAE ALL THE TIME?
A: THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO ALGAE GROWTH WHICH MAY INCLUDE POOR FILTRATION, POOR WATER CHEMISTRY, ANIMALS IN AND AROUND THE POOL, EXCESSIVE HEAT, SOLAR BLANKETS, DIRT/DEBRIS, FERTILIZERS AND THE PRESENTS OF PHOSPHATES IN THE WATER

Q: HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY FILTER?
A:MANY THINGS FACTOR INTO FREQUENCY OF FILTER CLEANINGS OR BACK-WASHING IE: SIZE OF POOL, FREQUENCY OF USAGE, GENERAL MAINTENANCE ETC. ON AVERAGE A POOL WITH PROPERLY SIZED FILTER IS DISABLED AND CLEANED 1 TO 2 TIMES PER YEAR         (EXCLUDING SAND FILTERS)

Q: IF I HAVE A SALT CHLORINATOR DOES THAT MEAN I DON’T HAVE TO CHECK MY WATER CHEMISTRY ANYMORE?
A: POOLS EQUIPPED WITH A SALT CHLORINATOR MAY KEEP YOUR CHLORINE LEVEL AT A CONSTANT, BUT WILL NOT MAINTAIN YOUR PH & ALK LEVELS. DURING THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE CHLORINE IT RAISES THE PH AT A GREATER RATE THEN IT DID PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. YOUR PH & ALK SHOULD BE TESTED ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR ADJUSTMENTS

Q: HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DRAIN MY SPA?
A: IF THE SPA IS KEPT HEATED AND HAS LOW USAGE OF 1 TO 3 TIMES PER WEEK WE WOULD RECOMMEND CHANGING THE WATER EVERY 90 DAYS. HIGH USAGE OF 4 TO 7 TIMES WEEKLY WE RECOMMEND CHANGING THE WATER EVERY 30 TO 60 DAYS

Q: WHAT IS THE AVERAGE EVAPORATION RATE DURING THE SUMMER?
A: EVAPORATION WILL VARY WITH TEMPERATURE AND WIND BUT IN OUR CLIMATE DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS 1/4” PER DAY FOR AN UNCOVERED POOL WOULD NOT BE EXCESSIVE.  WE WOULD RECOMMEND DOING A SIMPLE BUCKET TEST ANYTIME YOU’RE IN DOUBT

Q: DOES MY POOL STILL HAVE TO FILTER DURING THE WINTER? IF SO HOW MANY HOURS?
A: YES YOU NEED TO CONTINUE YOUR FILTRATION THROUGH THE WINTER, BUT YOU CAN REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF HOURS DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF DEBRIS YOUR POOL. A GOOD STARTING PLACE FOR THE AVERAGE POOL IS ABOUT 4 HOURS. WE RECOMMEND RUNNING THE PUMP IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS IF YOU DON’T HAVE FREEZE PROTECTION BUILT IN TO YOUR SYSTEM TO AVOID FREEZE DAMAGE
